Parfait.
The first sentence of the "This Is What 'Parisienne' Looks Like" article to me read "the perfect Parisian woman is an illusion". Now, I fully understand that the article is telling us about Parisian women, specifically one who has evolved into the definition of a true "Parisienne"; however I could not help but stop to think about the world's incessant pursuit of perfection. What do we have to look like, wear, eat, buy ... to be perfect? What absurd changes do we have to make to ourselves fit this mold of perfection that in most cases leaves us all miserable. "Despite her relaxed, flexible style, Ms. de la Fressange is a disciplined businesswoman who knows how to sell her brand: herself. ... she knows the key to being beautiful is self-confidence". Ms. de la Fressange understands the importance of not just confidence, but self-confidence. I think many times we as women are told to be confident in our looks, work, etc. but the first step is to be confident in yourself; in everything that makes you, you. Not in what you hope the world sees when they look at you. Without self-confidence everything else is just an extra layer of "make-up" that will be removed at the end of each day and reapplied every morning.
