Manly Music?

     I was listening to the three songs ("Moi Je Joue," "Les Filles c'est fait pour faire l'amour," and "Hey You Woman") and originally thought of writing about the perspective of women presented in each. However, one surprising factor that caught my eye was the youtube comments below the videos. A majority of the videos that we have watched on youtube hardly accumulated views, so the comment sections were naturally pretty empty. Unfortunately, "Les Filles c'est fait pour faire l'amour" only has three comments by the same person simply asking a question and expressing excitement. However, the other two videos have very intriguing comments.

     For "Hey You Woman," one particular, enthusiastic fan (Babyhowdy233) had interesting things to say. Some gem excerpts include "best version I have ever heard of this sexy song," "you can hear all his masculine emotions," "he's supremely confident and commanding in his sexual, masculine power,""EVERYTHING a real woman wants from a man," and "makes no sense at all to have a FEMALE chorus." It seems that this user implies that confidence is only a proper male trait, giving any importance to women would destroy the song, and that women relish in these truths. Indeed, it seems true that a man who threatens violent revenge for being in a relationship that he hated because of dominant female aspects is extremely sexy.

     Interestingly, "Moi Je Joue" has over 400 comments. The majority appear to fit either into the "I have no idea what this says, but I like it" category, or the "BB has always been so pretty/sexy, and still is even as an old lady" category. Just a few comments to summarize the second category include "she is crazy but always sexy" by assanaut EE (originally in French, translated by me) and "one of the prettiest women ive ever seen...I mean seriously pretty...sexy as hell" from lefmeman. In fact, lm2530 seems to have decided that the most important factor of the video was not related to the music at all and stated "to see more sexy photos of beautiful Brigitte, go to my uploaded YouTube videos." Why do comments on her music have absolutely nothing to do with the music, unlike the other video?
